You refer to the prophecy of the one who will bring balance to the Force. You believe it’s this….boy?

"Because every time you see them happy you remember how sad they’re going to be. And it breaks your heart. Because what’s the point in them being happy now if they’re going to be sad later? The answer is, of course, because they are going to be sad later."

Why is there a poster of Sebulba and his podracer in Anakin’s room?

They didn’t like each other.  They were rivals in races, Sebulba called Anakin names, Anakin returned the trash talk.  They were not friendly at all.  So why does he have a poster of him?

We didn’t get to see the whole poster, right? It may have been a “Sebulba vs. Some other dude” poster where Sebulba lost. :P

Anakin also has a model of his own fighter in his room - he clings to stuff like that, those items he can say “this is MINE” about, and I’m guessing the poster is one more representation of that - hell, it could be from the Boonta Eve for all we know. Anakin’s room is pretty fascinating, actually. Unloaded cargo crates, the model and the poster, the bed smack dab in the middle, the workbench, and the shades drawn. It looks like he’s got a nice big window, but it’s very dark in there. There’s a lamp in the corner (it looks like a lamp), and an emblem on the door that I don’t recognize as being a common Jedi symbol or one associated with Anakin personally. Compare this to Ahsoka and Barriss’ quarters - very small, spartan, just a sleeping mat - Barriss has her altar. This may be because of the difference in allowances between Padawan and Knight regarding living quarters, but Anakin’s room definitely looks far less Jedi-like than what we’ve seen of living quarters previously on the show.

MY TIME HAS COME.  In other words, I come bearing screencaps.

image

So on the closeup of Anakin, you can only see Sebulba, but it’s actually a poster of Sebulba vs. probably Ben Quadinaros — someone other than me can read the Aurebesh if they want.  (Wookieepedia actually identifies that pic as him.)

The starfighter model is interesting because it’s not Anakin’s starfighter.

image

It’s clearly meant to be — you can see tiny little Artoo in it.  But here’s the starfighter Anakin is flying in S5 (without S-foils extended):

image

That’s the Eta-2 Actis class light interceptor, for those that are into that sort of thing.  (It’s also the starfighter Anakin and Obi-Wan fly in RotS.)  I couldn’t get a good screencap of the model, because Anakin’s moving in the shot where its clearest, but in the model, the astromech unit is roughly dead center, rather than off to one side.

Now, in the earlier seasons, the Jedi fly a different starfighter (the same on that Obi-Wan flies in AotC).  Here’s Ahsoka’s:

image

Okay, why am I still talking about the starfighter model?  Well, it kind of shows up a lot in that scene.  Sort of ominously, actually.  It keeps showing up in shadow.

image

image

Now, the model is clearly a starfighter.  However, you know what ship the silhouette looks most like?

Darth Maul’s Sith Infiltrator.  It’s not an exact match at all, because Anakin’s model looks like it narrows to a much sharper point than the Scimitar, and Maul’s ship isn’t a a starfighter.  But it’s far more elongated than the two Jedi starfighters we see in the movies and show.

image

Here is a hella blurry cap from TPM — it’s impossible to get a clear shot of the thing in profile because it’s moving, and when it’s still, we usually see it from behind, where the hatch and ramp are.  Here it is in the Darth Maul comics:

image

Now, I don’t know if that was deliberate or not — Anakin never saw Maul’s ship as far as I know, and my guess is that he wasn’t actually modeling his own starfighter.  I think he was designing the next generation of Jedi starfighters, because the design is a natural evolution of the two versions we see in the canon.  But the resemblance is interesting, and it’s the first thing I thought of when I saw the model in that ep.

I would just like to offer a small supplement to the above and point out that Anakin also took a Super Battle Droid from some battlefield and he keeps that in his room, too
